John Edwin Allanson-Oddy, a devoted and loving partner to Lynda Halprin passed away at the age of 67. He is survived by his brother Allan, who lives in Scotland, his niece Rowena, nephew Charles, and cousin Deborah Carwithen from Prince Rupert. John immigrated to Victoria, BC in 1967 and later moved to Vancouver. John owned an import furniture business from Slovenia, and also designed special furniture which included antique copies of unpainted furniture. One loving and dear friend to John was his dog Salem, they were always together. Some of John’s favourite hobbies were watching Formula 1 racing every weekend and cooking, he baked amazing fruit pies. He also enjoyed a good wine and Italian Opera's. Many people said he was a true "Gentleman".
He will be missed so much by his soul mate Lynda. As well by Flora, who took wonderful care and devotion to John and Danyael Halprin who held great respect and love for John.
Many thanks for the wonderful care and attention from Dr. Norton, and the nurses and staff at the Lynn Valley Care Center in the 2nd floor Lodge.
In lieu of flowers any donations to the Alzheimer's Society of B.C. in John's name would be greatly appreciated. A Remembrance of John's life will be held in June. To write a condolence for John's family please visit www.mckenziefuneralservices.com
