Obituary for Jerry Evans
Born on October 18, 1937 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Jerry peacefully passed away on July 24, 2018 at age 80 in North Vancouver. Jerry is survived by his wife Annie; daughter Anne (Dave); grand-daughters Savanna and Taryn; and step-children Gary (Jenny) and Michelle. Jerry was predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Victor Evans; and son Geoffrey.
Jerry grew up in the community of Strathcona in Vancouver where he attended Vancouver Technical Secondary. Upon graduation, he embarked on a 42-year career at Finning. Jerry’s love for hockey brought him across the province where he played with a variety of teams including the Finning Super Cats. He left his mark on his community by coaching youth hockey and lacrosse for many years. Jerry loved his families and friends. Jerry was an avid fan of movies, White Spot, sports, dancing, and playing his guitar.
A funeral mass will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 2725 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver. Reception to follow.
