Allison Williams (grand-daughter)

(Sent to Pop while in hospital) Hi Pop!! As always, I wish I could be joining you and the whole family right now. Our many reunions and time spent together make up many of my happiest memories, and I'd love to be in the thick of the conversations surrounding hockey and politics that I'm sure are taking place. You've taught me many important things over the years, ranging from how to make a proper cup of tea to the adventures of Don Quixote. In particular, you've emphasized the power of the English language, whether it be through the recital of important works of literature or a choice set of words for a referee. I've thought about you often as of late as I begin to engage with the expansive worlds of business, law, and politics - all areas where I know we share an interest. In many cases, I've talked proudly of your accomplishments or wondered about your experiences. I am also very aware of the impact your encouragement has had on me over the years, particularly in the value you've always placed upon scholarship and learning. I don't think it is any coincidence that I have so many wonderful cousins and family members to look up to and be inspired by, and I know I'm not alone in seeing the impact of your spirited support. And somehow, you've always done it with a smile on your face! I love you so much Pop - hugs and kisses from Kingston! Allison
