Obituary for Carole Toy-Ping Rantfors (Mar)
Our dearest Carole, beloved wife, mother and grandmother (Farmor), succumbed to her brave battle with cancer on July 4th, 2018 at the North Shore Hospice in North Vancouver. She passed away peacefully, surrounded with love by her family at her side. Predeceased by her parents Edythe and Harry Mar, and her brother Don Mar, all of Vancouver.
Survived by her sister, Joyce Toy-Chan Moore, her loving husband of 48 years, Peter Ulf Rantfors, her son, Paul, daughter in-law, Shaya, and grandchildren, Sophie and Magnus.
Carole was a woman of many talents and pursuits both as an accomplished artist (painter) and in other forms of artistic expression. Both Carole and her husband Peter were avid travellers, having visited 73 countries to date. She supported her family’s business (Vancouver Lighting) and was an involved member of her community, Pemberton Heights, in North Vancouver where she resided since 1975.
Carole was a truly beautiful human being and a special lady who touched the hearts’ of everyone she knew. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. In memory of Carole and in lieu of flowers, please donate to the BCSPCA or the Gordon Smith Gallery Artist For Kids Program.
A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held Sunday, August 24th. Location and time to be determined.
