Obituary for Ruth Emma Franziska Bartsch

Ruth Emma Franziska Bartsch
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Emma Bartsch, our beloved Mom, Oma and friend. Ruth passed away at the North Shore Hospice on April 13, 2015, soon after celebrating her 92nd birthday on March 25.

Ruth was born in Stettin, Germany. She is survived by her daughter Sabina Minshall, from her first marriage to Dr. Hermann Steinmetz, (deceased) and by her son Peter Bartsch from her second marriage to Karl Heinz Bartsch (deceased). As well by Peter’s wife Nikki, their children Janessa and Adam, Ruth’s sister-in-law Mary Roloff , niece Heike Britton ( Rob), their daughters Samantha and Katie, nephew Ralph Roloff ( Pam) and their children Eric, Sonja and Anita. Ruth will be mourned by relatives in Germany, and by her many friends from work, bridge and “the ski cabin”.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to North Shore Hospice.

We would like to thank Dr. Wayne Smith for his many years of caring for Ruth and for visiting her every day while she was in hospital and hospice. Thanks as well to the nurses, care aides and staff at the North Shore Hospice for making Ruth’s final days comfortable and peaceful. You are all very special people.
