Obituary for George Johnstone Rushton
George Johnstone Rushton, born May 16, 1935, peacefully passed away November 21, 2015, at the North Shore Hospice.
George was raised in Scotland. He emigrated to Canada in 1956, to begin a lifelong career with the Royal Bank of Canada.
George is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Georgie, son Michael Rushton, and daughters Ann (Reford) Whitman and Barbara (Stephen) Robinson. He is also survived by his sister Theresa Hoblyn, of London, England, and ten grandchildren: Sadie, Thomas, Ben, Stephanie, David, Jenny, Paul, Margaret, Daniel, and John.
The family is very grateful for the care given to George by the physicians and staff of Lions Gate Hospital and North Shore Hospice.
The family is celebrating George’s life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be warmly appreciated.
