Letter to Granny May 2015

Dear Granny, You know my youngest memory ever is of sitting on the ground next to you in the kitchen while you are cooking at the stove at Westwater. I remember many days of watching cooking shows and Chinese variety TV shows with you. You had the best laugh when something hilarious came on TV. I remember afternoons where you'd ask me to massage your neck and shoulders since they were sore from doing laundry. I had a fun time playing mahjong with you and Popo. I am sure your habit of humming and singing to yourself has been passed down through Dad to me and now to my kids. Thank you for all the years you looked after Catherine and me. We were so lucky to have you taking care of us. You still make the best potato pancakes, tomato and egg, steamed eggs with pork and salty duck egg, fish sticks, and red bean soup. I am hoping you have a safe journey and when you arrive there that you'll get to eat all the wonderful foods you love and play mahjong with old buddies. The kids and I will write you updates about what's going on from time to time just in case you are having too much fun to keep track of us. I will do my best to try and get the kids to write in Chinese more neatly too. We will always love and miss you. Jenny
