O’MEARA, Thomas Oliver
October 30, 1945 – April 4, 2015
Born in County Tipperary, Ireland on October 30, 1945 Thomas (Poppy) passed away peacefully at the North Shore Hospice with his family by his side on Saturday, April 4, 2015, aged 69 years. Thomas immigrated to Canada in 1973, first settling in Edmonton, Alberta, where he made lifelong friends and eventually moved to Vancouver, BC in 1987. He is survived by his wife, Nora, son Seán, daughters Siobhán and Aisling, son-in-law Henry, beloved grandson Ronan, siblings Marie, Richard, Talbot, Karen, John, Paul and Eugene, and nieces and nephews in Ireland. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the BC Cancer Agency, the West Vancouver Home Care Nurses and the staff at the North Shore Hospice for their compassion and loving care as Thomas fought his courageous battle. A funeral mass will be celebrated, followed by a reception at Saint Anthony’s Parish, 2337 Inglewood Avenue, West Vancouver on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Shore Hospice.
