My name is Donald Ross. John was born at 50, Captain Street, Greenock in Scotland and I was born at number 48. John was a wee bit older than me but he left a lasting impression. He introduced me to the 'Boy's Brigade' which has stood me in good stead. He worked as a Draughtsman at Hamilton's yard on the Clyde: I don't remember whether that influenced me or not but, coincidentally, I to became a Draughtsman too. Even after all these years he is instantly recognisable from his picture. It is sad to hear of his passing but he has left us all with something to pass on. My condolences to the Family.
