May 19, 1927 to April 7, 2022
Our precious mother passed away peacefully at age 94 from complications of a stroke at VGH surrounded by her three children Penny Puay Ang, Kenneth Ching Whay and Laurence Chin Kay Tan on April 7, 2022.
She was born in Singapore in 1927 and survived World War 2 as a teenager. Courageous and devoted, she immigrated to Vancouver in 1986 to be with her children.
Gifted with an artistic and creative flair, she enjoyed painting, Chinese calligraphy, and sewed beautiful dresses in her younger days and was good at it. She taught us everything we needed to start out in primary school including English grammar and arithmetic. She also loved travelling, especially those trips taken with the family. We remembered also how much she enjoyed driving and she had a keen sense of direction.
Selflessness and generosity were the two traits that highlighted her personality the most. Our beloved mom was an amazing mother, so kind, loving, caring, nurturing and protective of us . We were the pride and joy of her life and we will miss her dearly.
May you rest in heavenly peace, dearest mother. You will always be in our hearts and never be forgotten. We love you very much.
