Obituary for Robert Robertson

Bob started life’s journey in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of Andrew and Helen Robertson and brother of sisters, Helen and Jeanette. In 1966, he married, Marlyn, the love of his life and in 1967 they emigrated to Canada where they enjoyed a wonderful life together. Bob resumed his career as a respected member of the printing industry and was a meticulous craftsman. He was a truly good man , kind and gentle, good natured and full of fun, very sociable and always ready to help a friend. During his life he enjoyed skiing, was an enthusiastic golfer and an artist . His beautiful garden, full of lovingly tended flowers, was a testament to his talent as a gardener. Socially he enjoyed a good party, had a repertoire of songs and his skill on the dance floor was much appreciated by the ladies. Bob and Marlyn were a popular and cherished aunt and uncle to their nieces and nephews and to the children of their many friends. Their families from Scotland and the U.S. had many happy times together with them. Sadly, Bob was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which he endured with grace for many years. He was a much loved man and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
