Our beautiful son Reno Randy Ruckman, 24, of Burnaby, BC, passed away suddenly on August 17, 2019.
He was born April 12, 1995 in Burnaby BC.
The son of Jim and Belinda (Gough) Ruckman and brother to Riley Ruckman, Reno left the world much too soon.

Big Reno as he was lovingly called by his parents came into the world as a 6 pound 10 ounce tiny bundle of joy. By the time he was a year old he weighed a whopping 30 pounds! He continued to surprise everyone with his height as he grew up and it wasn’t surprising the 6 foot 2 inch brown eyed young man became passionate about basketball.

He played the game with gusto and followed the sport fiercely, looking up to his hero and mentor NBA All Star and MVP LeBron James.

Besides excelling at hoops Reno also loved to game.

Reno graduated from Burnaby North Secondary School where he was a member of the basketball team and he also played basketball with the YMCA. He was currently employed at Big Star Sandwich Company in Burnaby where he excelled at customer service. Although Reno had only been at his job for seven months, he built strong friendships with his co-workers who miss him dearly. His go to sandwich was the #25 which included turkey, bacon, provolone and mac sauce and whatever sandwich he ate it would be smothered in chipotle sauce.
Reno loved dad burgers and pretty much anything his dad Jim cooked. Reno’s most recent food must-have was Jim’s Jamaican jerk chicken wings. Jim went to great lengths to make authentic jerk seasoning that included scotch bonnet peppers. Reno was his Dad’s best friend.

Reno brought into this world a light that even in his death will never be extinguished.
Reno had a jolly spirit and he would make the funniest faces. He was kind, compassionate, generous and loving to all who knew him. He loved spending time with his family and each summer all of them would travel to Penticton, not once but twice to vacation at their favourite hotel.

Reno was loved immensely and words can not express how much we miss him. We will cherish all the memories and good times we spent together as a family.

Reno will not be defined by his exit from this world, but rather for the joy he brought while he was on this earth.
RIP Reno Ruckman.

I remember Reno from all the way back in preschool (still have some pictures of us somewhere). I have a rock he gave me still. He was probably my first friend. Seeing that he is no longer here stings me beyond belief. I deeply regret not trying to reconnect with Reno sooner.
Reno, I miss you a lot.

Our condolences from the Chaaban Family and the entire Habibi's team.
We had the great pleasure of working with Reno for a few days and honestly think he hated it hahaha but would not show that emotion at all! He was all smiles throughout the day and kept saying I'm happy to help wherever it's needed :) Reno, I felt, was super shy but I think I got him to giggle a few times to make him feel more at home here. Even Though my encounter with Reno has been short Abe and I have had the pleasure to get to know Belinda, Riley and Jim while Belinda was working for us so the news was very shocking for us and still doesn't feel real. We wish to contribute with a donation to a charity or organization of your choosing so please let us know when you can. Rest In Peace Reno

The sadness that surrounds the loss of Reno is profound. Belinda, Jim and Riley, I will never be able to find words to express how deeply I feel for the loss of our beautiful Reno. I look up to heavens every day to find a sign from Reno. My hope is that he is with dad and those angels are looking out for us still here on this earth processing what has happened. Please know that you are always in my thoughts and I am here for you.
