Obituary for Peter Fredrick Grabenhof
Peter passed away peacefully at Peace Portal Seniors Village the last day of July after what he called “a very good life” both full and lucky.
Born in Königsberg, Germany, he immigrated to Canada as a young man, spending several years in Manitoba before moving west to BC with his first wife Peggy (1928-1996). Peter’s work was in the grocery business from North Vancouver and Burnaby to their IGA store in Pender Harbour.
Retirement brought Peter much happiness with his marriage to Helena, who for sixteen years, would be both his avid travel partner and tender companion. Peter was always up for a board game or a game of cards and, like in his life, he won many more times than he lost.
He was predeceased by his wife Helena, parents Herman and Charlotte, brother Dieter (Josette) and sister Annalise.
Peter is survived by niece Isabelle, nephew Laurent, stepdaughter Kim, stepsons Paul and Dino, and their respective extended families and friends.
