There is a human and spiritual bond that connects all of us, and on November 20, 2018, a star was born with the passsing of one of ours.
Jose Luc Elian Riga (né Tenenbaum) was born in Paris (France) and immigrated to Canada in the 70s. Young retiree from the Quebec Government, he became a clinical hypnotherapist after moving to Vancouver in 2009.
A Master Reiki practitioner, lover of life and people, and an avid seeker of knowledge, Jose attracted to him all kinds of wonderful individuals with his wisdom and gentle approach and by reaching out and being of service to whomever was in need.
He found much joy in being a contributing member of the community, and was actively involved with Bodhi Meditation and Or Shalom. He sat on the board of the IMDHA for 3 years and was also a volunteer for many years at St Paul's Hospital, in the cardiac and palliative care wards. We was also an emergency response delegate for the French Consulate in Vancouver.
Jose will now be reunited with his wife, Renee Riga, who inspired him to become a hypnotherapist, his mom Bella and father Wolf, brother Gilles, sister Isabelle, and by so many others who were looking forward to greet him into the light.
He is survived by his three children, Francois, Frederic and Christine, his stepchildren, Raoul and Renata, his seven grandchildren, by countless friends, in Canada and all over the world.
His heart was big enough to hold all of humanity, and in a way, it did.
A service will be held on Friday November 23 at 10 am.
