Obituary for Gail Ethel MacIntosh (Mowat)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gail Macintosh (Mowat)(Megas) on January 23rd 2022. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Jodi (John), daughter in law Christine, her loving 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, in-laws and dear friends.

Gail was predeceased by her parents Victor and Harriet, her brother Vic, sister Lynne, husband Larry, ex husband Dave and her cherished sons Ian and Russ and niece Sandy.

Gail was born in Pioneer BC a small mining town, she grew up in Point Grey Vancouver where she met and married Dave. They began their family in Calgary Alberta then spent a few years in Barrie Ontario before returning to the west coast in 1972 to be closer to family and raise their children. Gail loved the North Shore, the ocean, the family cabin on Keats Island where so many memories and the best blackberry pies were made by her.

Gail was a loving, witty and welcoming lady. She loved her dogs and birds and was a strong supporter of the SPCA and BC Cancer Foundation. As part of her caring nature she volunteered at Lions Gate Hospital Palliative Care Ward.

Gail enjoyed traveling anywhere she could put her toes in the sand and smell the "salty" ocean air. She was happiest in her garden and amazing with plants and flowers. She and her late husband received an award from West Vancouver for their gardening landscape at their home and surrounding area by Capilano river. When she moved into her care home, her neighbors replanted much of her garden at the clubhouse to create "Gail's Garden" for all to enjoy. While living at the care home Gail would usually be found in the garden tending to the plants and flowers there.

The family would like to thank Dr Paul Sugar and the entire staff at Inglewood Care Home for their care and compassion they gave to Gail.

We like to believe you are reunited with your loved ones and tending to a beautiful garden in Heaven now.

A private ceremony will be held by family in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the BC SPCA or BC Cancer Foundation.
