Obituary for Evelyn Fern "Buddy" Carson (Rintoul)

Buddy passed away peacefully at North Shore Hospice on March 22, 2021. For 99 years she laughed and chatted, joked, danced and lived her way through a life that was full of love, stories, war, hardship, friendship, dogs and family.

Buddy grew up in Sarnia, Ontario and after several moves relocated with her family to BC in 1967, where she enjoyed playing bridge, walking her dogs, her many friendships and helping out various charities. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Freeda; siblings, Dorothy and Keith; husband, Stuart (1993) and son, Paul (2010) and is remembered lovingly by her son Peter Carson; grandchildren Kimberly Beal (Jeff), Devon Carson (Karolin) and Sean Carson; daughter-in-law Correne Carson (Jeff); and precious great-grandchildren Declan, Rowan, Benni, Emily and Connor. Also surviving are her sister-in-law Florence Rintoul and nieces and nephews in both Ontario and on the West Coast. She was grateful to her caregiver, Donna, for her friendship and loving care.

We will always remember Buddy smiling and teasing her family and friends with her quick wit and sense of humour. She truly was a “buddy” to all those who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. Buddy loved her home at Churchill House and the friends she made there and was grateful to all for the care and kindness they showed her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Shore Hospice or the SPCA.
