Obituary for Cyndi Millar

It is with deep sadness that the family of Cynthia Anne Millar ("Cyndi") announces her passing on October 25, 2023. Cyndi was an amazing and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Colin Emslie, her sons Christopher (Meg), Graham (Danielle) and James and her grandson Leo who she adored. Also her sister Caroline (Michael), and her parents Rod and Shirley. She was predeceased by her sister Barbara.

Cyndi was born in Winnipeg and moved to California at the age of seven. After high school, she attended UBC where she earned degrees in both Commerce and Law. She was a very talented and accomplished lawyer who enjoyed practising for well over 30 years. She especially valued the long lasting friendships she developed with a number of her colleagues during that time.

Cyndi loved to travel and she and Colin did so extensively. She was always eager for the next adventure wherever that may have taken her. Some of her happiest moments were vacations where the whole family could be all together in some sunny location. She was a master at completing 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles and was a voracious reader. She treasured the friendships she had with her long time book club friends.

Cyndi was kind, thoughtful and caring - never concerned about herself but always focused on others. After receiving her cancer diagnosis she was very much at peace with it and was more concerned about the impact it would have on family and friends rather than herself. She will be so, so missed.

Cyndi's life will be celebrated on the 16th of November at 2PM at "The View on Lonsdale' 2121 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, BC
