CRAWFORD WALTER HAWKINS
September 21, 1933 – June 25, 2019
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Crawford had a full life. He served in the United States Marine Corps at 18 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following, he returned to New York working his way up in the film/television/advertising business, starting in the mail room, and moving on to editor, producer, director, post-production supervisor, and executive director of the Directors Guild of Canada in British Columbia. He was always happy to volunteer his time to film community initiatives and events, and he was a mentor for many in the industry. Crawford was blessed to have many friends and supporters in his adopted town of Vancouver and throughout the business in Canada and the United States. He leaves two brothers, James and Edward, his wife of 39 years Lid, three children, Patti, Douglas and Gordon, and four grandchildren, Daniel, Audry, Michael, and Kai Crawford – all of whom will miss him keenly.
