Obituary for Constance Margaret Zweng (Dorazio)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Connie, more often known as Nonie. Shortly after being admitted to Lions Gate Hospital, Connie left us on Friday, November 11, 2022. Born in Vancouver, B.C. just over100 years ago to Italian immigrant parents, Connie lived the early part of her life in East Vancouver, then in the 1970’s the family moved to Burnaby. Connie was predeceased by her loving husband Frank of 65 years; her son Terry, her daughter Mary-lynn; brothers Don and Steve; son-in-law Ross; sisters-in-law Mildred and Mary. Surviving her are her cherished daughter Fran Hodgkins (Alan Trammell); son-in-law Bruce Murray, daughter-in-law Catherine Young; grandchildren David (Karen), Derek (Sara), Grant (Suzanna), Gregory (Bev), Trevor (Selena), Jacqueline (Alex) and Alan’s son Greg (Cynthia); her 12 adoring great grandchildren; sister-in-law Rose; niece Marg (Sam); nephews Steve, Don (Josie) and Andy along with her many beloved friends. Connie was a pillar of gentle strength with a unique gift for making anyone she came in contact with feel special. Her hospitality was unbounded and you never left her home hungry. Her pasta and meatballs were “the best”! Connie kept up to date on sports, the news and politics; did the newspaper crossword daily and continually had a Novel on the go. She gave her family unconditional love and they returned it. Connie’s strong faith never diminished even after losing two of her children within the past five years. She always told us how blessed she felt for her life, family and friends. We would like to thank the Lower Terrace Staff at Inglewood Care Centre who made the past 20 months pleasant and comfortable for her. Special friend Monsignor Gregory Smith will celebrate her Funeral Mass which will be held 11:00am Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Parish, 599 Keith Road, West Vancouver, B.C.
