Anya Yakovlena Khalina was born September 22, 1957 in Tokmak, Ukraine, and passed away in her West Vancouver home on December 18, 2019 at age 62.

In Vancouver, Anya leaves behind her loving daughter, Anna. In Ukraine, she is dearly missed by her brother Zhora, and sister Olga.


Anya was a talented fashion designer, and will be remembered for making beautiful hats and clothing. She was a generous, kind, and compassionate woman, who held the beauty of nature above all. She always looked to experience good in the world, and lovingly cared for plants, flowers and local animals. She had a big heart and a youthful spirit.


Rest in peace and dance with lightness and joy, for you are now free.
