Obituary for Robert Watt

1936 – 2014
With great sorrow we say goodbye to Bob Watt. Bob passed away comfortably and quietly at the Lions Gate Hospital on August 16, 2014. Bob was born in Dundee, Scotland and sailed to Canada in 1953 aboard the “Ascania” to start a new life.

A journeyman steamfitter, Bob worked in numerous locations within BC as a young man and had a successful career for 33 years at Vancouver Wharves until his retirement at 62. A long term North Vancouver resident he spent countless hours in the time keeper’s box at his sons hockey games.

Bob is predeceased by his son, Bobby and brother Ken. He is survived by his wife (Donna), sons Gary (Tania), Mike (Louise), brothers Norman (Anne) and Gerry (Jose); three nieces and two nephews. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Tyler, Jaime, Hunter and Ryan.

Bob delighted in a good cup of tea and the eternal search for the perfect boat. He leaves behind numerous faithful co-workers, friends and neighbors.
A family graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations to a cancer foundation would be greatly appreciated. Truly a man of tender heart and generous spirit.
